MEET THE STAFF
Sara is the co-owner of The Spotlight Theatre. One of her passions has always been teaching. She has been performing in musical theatre for over 22 years, starting in high school and then proceeding to complete The Actor’s Training program at Delta College in Stockton, CA. She then went on to receive her BFA in Musical Theatre from California State University, Fullerton. She also completed her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University in Pasadena, CA. Since moving to Moline, IL with her husband And their 3 children in 2012, Sara has performed in musicals at various theaters in the area including QC Theatre Workshop, Quad City Music Guild, The Black Box Theatre and Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse. Sara has also taught theatre camps in California as well as acting and musical theatre at Junior Theatre in Davenport in addition to private voice lessons for the past 4 years; currently teaching at QC Rock Academy. She is so excited to use her creativity and passion to help children develop and strengthen their performing skills and provide a place for them to express themselves!
Megan Warren is a vocal performer and educator originally from Batavia, IL. Megan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a degree in Choral Music Education. While on campus she was recognized as a recipient of the Warren H. Schuetz award and vocal division achievement award for distinction in the field of choral/vocal music education. Currently she is serving her third year as the director of 6th-8th grade choirs at Geneseo Middle School. When she is not teaching Megan enjoys performing in local productions. Recent credits include: Fiona in “Shrek” and Mary Bailey in “Miracle In Bedford Falls”. Megan has taught private voice for the past 3 years, and is accepting students ages 10+ of all abilities. Becca is a Quad Cities native with 10 years of experience working in children's theatre in the QC area. She is more than excited to be a part of the STCC! You've probably seen Becca perform at least once at one of the Quad Cities wonderful theatres including, QC Music Guild, The Black Box Theatre, QC Theatre Workshop, Country Side, and The Circa 21 Speakeasy. Along with her love of theatre Becca is owner and founder of The Green Room Bakery based out of The Spotlight Event Center's very own kitchen! She also spends her time outside theatre and baking, spending time with her family, including her 2 year old son and Niece and Nephews, Mati, Max, and Avenue. Becca cannot wait to pass on her passion for the theatre and all of its magic, with the kids of The Spotlight Theatre!
Brent Is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory in Los Angeles. He was a member of multiple improv and sketch comedy groups throughout L.A.. Brent has performed with ComedySportz in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and now back where it all started in The Quad Cities. Over the years he has formed many improv groups, locally he is a part of "Tubbs and Kelly Present...", and "Wisenheimer", the longest running long form improv troupe in the QC who also have a podcast. Brent has been a company member of The Reduced Shakespeare Company since 2005 where he's done tours in the US, Holland, and Belgium. Brent is an avid painter and writer, and has a young adult novel entitled "TUSA". As the Co-founder of The Spotlight Theatre, Brent could not be more excited to pass some knowledge on to the next generation of performers.
Adam Sanders is currently a Secondary History Education Major with a Theatre and English minor and is planning to attend Augustana College in the near future. Adam is a local actor- performing as Frank Abagnale Jr in Catch Me If You Can, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Al DeLuca in A Chorus Line and will be performing as Quasimodo in the Hunchback Of Notre Dame, here at the Spotlight Theatre. In his free time, Adam is a Barista at Milltown Coffee, he loves spending time with family and his girlfriend, Bethany, and will soon be a theatre instructor at Davenport Junior Theatre. “I want to thank my family and friends for being so supportive and to my girlfriend for giving me the strength and love to do what I love to do; love you B!!
