Summer Arts 4th - 8th Grade

4th-8th Grade Musical Theatre Camp
June 17th-29th

We hope your 4th-8th grader will be able to join us for our second summer of Summer Arts at The Spotlight! Classes will meet M-F and will contain workshops such as improv, costume design, lighting design, character study, auditioning and more! Every morning begins with yoga to get our students stretched out, relaxed and ready for the day! Students will also each receive a digital headshot to use for future auditioning! And students will be working with the Director, Choreographer and Music Director to put on a junior musical. *The show will be chosen based on enrollment.
Registration also includes a camp T-Shirt.

Times/Days:
M-F: 9am-3:30pm (both weeks)
Performances:
Friday, June 28th at 7pm
Saturday, June 29th at 2pm; Cast party to follow

Students will need to bring:
Water bottle, packed lunch, snacks, yoga mat or towel, black jazz shoes, pencils and a notebook, and a tote to keep belongings in.

Summer Arts Tech Camp

Have a child that loves theatre but isn’t sure about being on the stage? Or a child that enjoys tech and the way things work? What about creating and designing? The Spotlight will be offering a Tech Camp for children in 6th-12th grade that will run M-F concurrently with the 4th-8th grade Musical Theatre camp! Students in Tech Camp will learn the aspects of working backstage, including stage managing, lighting design, set construction, sound, costume design, props, and more! Each student will also be assigned their own production job that they will be responsible for during performances!

Times/Days:
M-F: 9am-3:30pm (both weeks)

K - 3rd Grade S.K.I.T.Summer Arts

K-3rd SKIT Camp
July 15-19th


In this 1/2 day, one week camp, students will work with the Director, Music Director and Choreographer to put on a short musical theatre performance. High School 21st Century Musical Theater Class

M-F, July 1st –July 11th

10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily

Final Dress Rehearsal July 11th 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.

Final Revue Performance July 11th 5:00 p.m.

Are you OBSESSED with Dear Evan Hansen? Have you ever staged a one man/woman performance of Hamilton in your shower? Are you dying to perform songs from musicals that have just recently made their way to the Broadway stage? If so, join us at the Spotlight Theatre for a musical revue style camp centered around all things contemporary musical theatre.

Throughout the duration of this camp students will gain experience performing as a large ensemble, in trios, duets, and solos using the repertoire of musical theatre written post-2000. Students will receive instruction in modern singing/belting, acting while singing, staging, design, and choreography. This 2-week camp will conclude with a musical revue style performance on the Spotlight Theatre Mainstage showcasing what students have learned!

David Casas Magic Camp

July 8th - 12th

learn Magic from one of the best! David Casas has been entertaining audiences full time for the last 20 years with his award winning magic. From Chicago, to Las Vegas, David's unique and cutting edge style of magic, has made him one of the most highly sought after entertainers in the country. David is more than a magician, he is an entertainer. His high energy shows have been described as professional, high-caliber, entertaining, and inspiring.

Class for 9-12yr olds will be Mon.- Fri. 3:00pm-4:30pm.

Class for 13-15yr olds will be Mon. - Fri. 4:30pm - 6:00pm

At the end of the week, kids will perform a short presentation and there will also be an exclusive, free event including a special performance by David Casas.
