CHILDREN’S COMPANY FALL REGISTRATION

mean girls: high school edition 7th - 12th grade

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the dCady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.

Adapted from Fey's hit 2004 film, Mean Girls was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards.  This queen-bee took Broadway by storm and has joined the musical in-crowd. And now, so can you with Mean Girls High School Version!

 

WHEN: Starts September 24th, Classes meet on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30

No class week of Thanksgiving . Possible added classes over Christmas break depending on schedules 

Tech week:

Saturday, January 10th: 10am-2pm

January 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th: 4:30-7:30pm

*Please note...Auditions will be held on Saturday September 13th from 10am-1pm. We will be sending out materials for auditions very soon! Please let us know if this day/time does not work for your child and we will find something that will work for them:) 

Performances: January 16th and 17th at 7pm, January 18th at 2pm

COST: $400. (Payment options available. $200 to secure place in class, then $200 anytime before September 3rd)

*Please mark all dates down in your calendar. It is imperative that all students attend all classes if at all possible. Staff and students will be putting together a 2 hr. musical and it is very important to have all students in class as everyone counts on each other. Putting together a show is truly a team effort! Students that miss more than two classes may possibly be removed from musical numbers they were not in class to learn. Re-teaching numbers that were not learned in class can take time away from learning the show for other students.

PURE IMAGINATION BROADWAY JUNIOR REVUE 3RD -8TH GRADE

Pure Imagination is a brand-new revue featuring songs from across MTI's Broadway Junior® collection. From Broadway Junior musicals based on adored titles like Seussical and Shrek The Musical to Disney favorites like Beauty and the Beast and Frozen, Pure Imagination offers a fun introduction to musical revues for young performers who are new to musical theatre

Grades: 3rd-8th

Class Time: Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm

Cost: $250

Dates: September 11th - November 15th

TlPerformance's: November 14th at 7:00pm and November 15th at 2:00pm

the lion king kids grades 1st - 6th

Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world. Featuring classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata.”

Class Info: Class Meets Mondays from 4:30pm- 6:00pm January 26th thru April 25th. Mandatory Tech Day Saturday April 18th from 10am -12pm.

Tech Week: Monday April 20th 4:30pm-6pm. Wednesday April 22nd 4pm-6pm Thursday April 23rd 4pm-6pm 

Performances: April 24th at 7:00pm and April 25th at 2:00pm.

newsies jr grades 4th - 8th

Disney's Newsies JR. is a 60-minute version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right.

Class Info: Class Meets Tuesdays from 4:30pm- 6:30pm January 27th thru May 2nd. Mandatory Tech Day Saturday April 25th 9am-12pm.

Tech Week: Tuesday April 28th, Wednesday April 29th, and Thursday April 30th-4:30pm -7:00pm

hadestown teen edition GRADES 7TH - 12

This full-length Teen Edition of Anaïs Mitchell’s haunting, jazz-inflected folk opera follows Orpheus’ mythical quest to overcome Hades and regain the favor of his one true love, Eurydice.

WHEN: Starts January 28th Classes meet on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 

Mandatory Tech Rehearsal: Saturday, May 9th: 10am-2pm

Tech Week: Monday May 11th, Tuesday the 12th, Wednesday the 13th, And Thursday the 14th all at 4:30-7:30pm
